REGISTRATION


The conference registration as well as the abstract submission and hotel reservation can be conveniently carried out through the conference software, called CATS, which is seamlessly integrated into the conference homepage.
The software guides you through the whole process from creating a user account, submitting an abstract, registering for the conference, purchasing additional items like dinners, proceeding volumes etc.

It also acts as your interface for all accounting aspects from printing invoices to paying by credit card or electronic bank transfers. In addition it serves conference chair-persons as a tool to manage sessions. Please handle all conference-related aspects via this interface.
Abstract Submission
The abstract submission deadline is over.

For writing your abstract please use the template provided in Word format ONLY! Abstracts will have to be re-submitted if their layout differs significantly.
The abstract should be short and consist of two (!) pages. The abstract may be comprised of text, figures, and tables. Drawings, figures, and tables should include figure labels and scale markers and have to be placed on the second page (!). Color figures may be used, and will be reproduced as such in the electronic proceedings distributed on CD-ROM; however, in the hard copy, these figures will be reproduced as grayscale images.

After writing your abstract, it is necessary to convert it to PDF. Please don’t use any headers, footers, and page numbering.

Only unencrypted PDF type documents will be accepted for submission (minimum PDF version: 1.6).

Please upload your abstract via the conference management system and don't forget to quote all authors there.

The possible payment types are Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners), Bank Transfer and Cash On Site.

The conference proceedings will appear as a book series consisting of three volumes corresponding to the three main topics of the conference:

  • Proceedings, Volume 1: Instrumentation and Methodology (I+M)
  • Proceedings, Volume 2: Life Sciences (Life)
  • Proceedings, Volume 3: Materials Sciences (Mat)

As a package volumes 1 and 2 or volumes 1 and 3 will be available for a price of 15 € for both volumes. If you wish to buy additional volumes those will be sold for 15 € per volume. Students will obtain one package for free. Please use the conference shop to choose your volumes. The entire content of all three books will also be available on a CD that you will receive when purchasing a printed copy.

The Welcome Reception and the Farewell Party are free of charge. Please register for these events using the conference shop to get free tickets.

Tickets for the conference dinner are sold for 50 € (students: 30 €). If you book your tickets on or before July 01, 2009, you will benefit from reduced rates (35 €, students: 18 €).

Hotel Booking
Hotel rooms can be booked in the conference management system. Please go to the conference shop and choose "Hotel Reservation" in the User Menu for making a reservation getting reduced MC2009 rates. Students can also find accommodation at very reasonable prices, for instance at Hotel Academia or the ETAP Hotel.
